Canterbury of New Zealand Release The Vodafone Warriors Grand Final Range

It was 2002 when the Vodafone Warriors last had us this excited about the NRL season final and now die-hard fans will be able to take their excitement to the next level and show their support head to toe with the limited edition Vodafone Warriors Grand Finals collection, due for release Wednesday 28th September 2011.
Vodafone Warriors clinched just their second NRL grand final appearance in history with their stunning 20-12 preliminary final victory over minor premiers, the Melbourne Storm at AAMI Park last Saturday night.
Backing a proud nation is the official Vodafone Warriors Grand Finals merchandise created by sponsoring sports brand, Canterbury of New Zealand. The finals range marks one of the most memorable moments in the team’s history made up of a graphic print tee, polo shirt and the classic sports cap.
Nick Honeyman Under The Grill

Today Alison Leonard from Easy Mix 98.2FM caught up with Nick Honeyman from Dallows (soon to be officially re-named Cru) at Sales Street, to sample a couple of his delicious dishes in the lead up to The Taste of New Zealand. First up was a beautiful tuna dish, so picturesque it pained us a little inside to see it consumed, but rest assured, there will be plenty more to taste at New Zealand’s biggest non-rugby event this year.

We’re getting excited about the Armageddon Expo 2011 in Auckland, kicking off on October the 28th. After the success of the inaugural burning of Armageddon Man in 2010, Armageddon is bring the giant fellow back for Armageddon Expo 2011 – bigger and destined for a more impressive blaze of glory. This time he’s got a full metal skeleton and is two metres taller than last year which means he burns for much longer!
When we say he’s big, we mean it! Just look at the size of his sword and you’ll get an idea of what we’re talking about.

The men in the office will most definitely attempt to grow the most impressive crumb catcher, nose neighbour, soup strainer Movember has ever seen. Gary Rhodes to Attend the Taste of New Zealand Festival

International culinary superstar Gary Rhodes is set to join a stellar lineup of chefs and foodies when he attends Taste of New Zealand; 19th – 22nd October at Victoria Park, Auckland.
Known as an ambassador for British cuisine, Gary Rhodes is the author of nearly 20 books and has starred on numerous Television cooking shows including his own popular series Rhodes Across Britain.
He has cooked for royalty including Princess Diana, the Manchester United Football Club and has restaurants in London, Dubai and in five star hotels around the world. He has accumulated an impressive six Michelin Stars for his efforts.
His first time in the country, Rhodes will make an appearance each day of the Taste of New Zealand Festival, in the Fisher & Paykel Chef’s Kitchen, demonstrating the cooking skill and flair that has won him this critical acclaim.
Rhodes says he is excited to be coming to New Zealand and to appear at the Taste of New Zealand Festival. “I’ve heard so much about New Zealand’s produce and restaurants. I’m greatly looking forward to rubbing shoulders with the chefs and foodies there,” he said. “This is my first trip to New Zealand and what better way to indulge my passions than in a fantastic festival environment,” says Rhodes.

In the lead up to Taste of New Zealand, Getfrank.co.nz caught up with David Hawk, the man behind award winning Suite Bar, who are bringing their unique and inventive cocktail making skills to the Audi Vip Lounge at Taste of New Zealand. Make sure you head down to Victoria Park 19th – 22nd October and sample their 1920′s themed cocktails, complete with a twist on the classic icecream spider and home made sodas!
Ooby Ryn at Fantasia Lingerie Show

Ooby Ryn is thrilled to have been a contributing designer at the Fantasia fashion extravaganza held over fashion weekend at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre. The show produced by the KidsCan Charitable trust auctioned off unique lingerie items and luxury packages raising $55,000 for disadvantaged Kiwi kids.
The live auction was held after the lingerie show offering exclusive packages for guests to bid on. Ooby Ryn who designed two pieces of lingerie aligned with the saint and sinners theme, donated her ‘saint’ outfit to be auctioned off alongside a cruise for 24, raising just over $4000 for the charity.
“I am absolutely thrilled to have been able to help such a great cause,” says Ooby Ryn designer, Robyn Brooks. “It has been an amazing challenge and an extremely rewarding experience for me,” she says.
KidsCan – the charity that helps provide essentials like food and shoes to kids living in poverty around New Zealand – will benefit from its glitzy fashion show Fantasia, which attracted a crowd of supporters.
Social Media and New Zealand Fashion Week

LUCK IS ON CANTERBURY OF NEW ZEALAND’S SIDE

Canterbury of New Zealand is proud to announce that internationally renowned rugby league and Vodafone Warriors player, Micheal Luck will be lending his boyish good looks to Canterbury as the new face of the brand.
As the brand ambassador for Canterbury of New Zealand, Luck will be the face of new and existing Canterbury products including lifestyle, training, baselayer and eyewear in which he will appear in national multi-media campaigns that span print, in-store and social platforms. Luck’s first campaign will be tied to Canterbury of New Zealand’s baselayer range, developed specifically to improve sporting performance and recovery.
Canterbury of New Zealand’s Marketing Manager, Colin Gibson says, “Micheal Luck is a remarkably talented sportsman who personifies the Canterbury brand and we are thrilled to be embarking on a collaborative journey with one of New Zealand’s star rugby league players.”
The partnership is set to bring a new dynamic to the way Canterbury of New Zealand communicate with their supporters and with the recent launch of New Zealand’s official Canterbury Facebook page, the collaboration with Micheal Luck will be fully utilised by offering fans the inside scoop and words of wisdom from the aspirational sportsman.
Annabel Langbein on More FM for Taste of New Zealand

Annabel Langbein, renowned cook, best selling author and face of Taste of New Zealand spoke to Clarke Gayford on More FM about her involvement with the culinary festival. As well as attending the event, Annabel will be launching her latest book Annabel Langbein Free Range in the City at Taste of New Zealand!
Victoria Park, Auckland is set to become New Zealand’s ultimate party as the Taste of New Zealand festival of food, wine and entertainment comes to town.
Coinciding with the final week of the 2011 Rugby World Cup, Wednesday 19th October – Saturday 22nd October, the four day festival will play host to around 25,000 local and international visitors hungry for the very best in cuisine and entertainment that New Zealand has to offer.
