The new Vodafone Warriors jersey by Canterbury of New Zealand

Official apparel sponsor, Canterbury of New Zealand is thrilled to release the new elite Vodafone Warriors jersey for 2012.

The new player’s kit incorporates improved fabric technology for a jersey that is lighter, stronger and more breathable than ever before, designed to give an edge to the player.

The playing kit includes Canterbury of New Zealand’s new ‘elite jersey’ that has been developed after extensive testing. While the jersey’s very tight to reduce scragging and has an extremely strong neckline, it has improved flexibility where it counts for player comfort.

A celebration of New Zealand rugby league heritage, Canterbury of New Zealand have crafted a design, that for the first time since 2002 brings back the ‘double V’, a traditional, heritage league look.

The Vodafone Warriors home strip remains black with a white away strip. The Junior Vodafone Warriors gets a bold new red home jersey that gives a unique, bold identity.

Colin Gibson,Canterbury’s Marketing & Sponsorship Manager says that the new design pays respect to the heritage of the game and offers a new look for the club in 2012.

“After initial meetings with the Vodafone Warriors last year, it was clear that we should be staying with the core black and white colours for the home and away strip that have come to identify the club.

“Then, through several discussions around what designs capture the essence of rugby league we were encouraged to bring back the V design that has been worn with pride by players and fans throughout the history of the game.”

“In addition, the National Youth Competition (the Junior Vodafone Warriors) team gets a new look too, one that stands alone and showcases them as the true champions they are.”

Replica jerseys are identical to that worn by the players, except they are cut more generously to suit the fans.

The official Vodafone Warriors range will be available to buy from early December 2011 which will include Vodafone Warriors replica jerseys, training and street wear apparel, all in which are developed specifically for the fans with a focus on comfort and fit.
