Ketz-Ke’s Jenny Drury in VIVA
Feb 27th
Ketze-Ke designer Jenny Drury appeared in the New Zealand Herald VIVA section recently to talk fashion journalist Zoe Walker about her ten favourite things…
1) My son’s first pair of shoes – My son Matt took his first steps in these little denim lace up shoes. The memories of his wobbly little body in them and his transition from crawling to standing makes them so special to me.
2) French Champagne – A glass or 2 enjoyed with close friends is a big favourite. I absolutely adore Verve Cliquot, it’s is the perfect addition to a special occasion.
3) TART – A quirky little café inLos Angelesthat I am always eager to get to. They make the best date scones which I can never resist when we make a trip over.
Riki Carter Finishes in Top 3
Feb 27th
Matterhorn Ambassador Riki Carter recently took part in the one of the toughest cocktail competitions in the world – the 2012 Angostura Aromatic Bitters Global Cocktail Challenge.
Selected to be New Zealand’s representative in December 2011 when he won the national title, Riki packed his shaker and headed over to Trinidad and Tobago to compete against 14 world class mixologists.
The competition itself is extremely tough; each mixologist is asked to produce four world class cocktails; each having to contain five dashes of Angostura Bitters, while one has to be rum based and the other competitor’s choice.
In light of this and facing some stiff competition, Riki bought some of that innovative Wellington flavour to the competition and successfully made the Top 3 – coming 2nd overall. Cheers Riki!

The Artefact Project Begins Tonight
Feb 22nd
charlatan clinic’s compelling latest work, The Artefact Project, begins Wednesday, February 22nd at French Revolver Studio, a renovated warehouse loft in Auckland Central and runs until Saturday February 25th.
The Artefact Project is the story of Ruby and Richard, split into three short plays that chronicle their relationship over two decades; their past, present and their future, as they live, love, divorce, explore, dream, mother and father – each within their own worlds.
A collaboration between charlatan clinic’s Resident Playwright and Artistic Director Melissa Fergusson and writer David Allnutt, The Artefact Project is a conversation between two friends, whose relationship remains entirely platonic.
“This gives them an ability to speak truth about themselves and their feelings without prejudice” says Fergusson. “It means that through them we can examine the complexities of friendship and ask the question: ‘how do we define boundaries between a man and a woman?’”.
